Some Important Changes

Greetings everyone,

In the upcoming server rolling updates by Linden Lab (typically on Tuesdays - Feb 28th and Wednesdays - Feb 29th), they will be breaking the 'viewer tag' support server side by changing the information sent on the 'unused' textures slots that build up an avatar (these are currently used for viewer identification). This is likely due to the new policies being pushed forward in Second Life’s new Third Party Viewer policy changes, more specifically to do with the following:

2. i: You must not display any information regarding the computer system, software, or network connection of any other Second Life user.

2. j: You must not include any information regarding the computer system, software, or network connection of the user in any messages sent to other viewers, except when explicitly elected by the user of your viewer.

You can read the full Third Party Viewer policy at:

https://secondlife.com/corporate/tpv.php

In accordance with the new policy set out by Linden Lab, we will NOT be working around the identification breakage and will be removing the identification code in future releases of the Exodus Viewer.

As always, we welcome any user input, let us know any thoughts/suggestions you have on our forums.
